Pinterest is a web based "favorites" visual organization site. At least, that is the way I would describe it. Pinterest describes itself as a virtual pinboard -
"Pinterest lets you organize and share all the beautiful things you find on the web. People use pinboards to plan their weddings, decorate their homes, and organize their favorite recipes.
Best of all, you can browse pinboards created by other people. Browsing pinboards is a fun way to discover new things and get inspiration from people who share your interests."
PS- you need to be invited in order to establish a Pinterest account. I have invitations to share so leave a comment with your email address and I will send you an invite. Offer good until the invites are gone.

Not only is browing pinboards a fun activity it is also 100% addicting! I use Pinterest to save recipes and creative food ideas, holiday home made gifts, collect craft ideas, keep party ideas for the boys upcoming birthdays in one place and so much more. In years past, I would simply rely on bookmarking or "favorite place-ing" ideas that I discovered around the web but here's where Pinterest is so much better. It's visual. Everything is saved as a photo so I can see at a glance the ideas I have collected and choose accordingly. How often have you favorite placed a website only to go back later, see the name of the site you saved and not have any idea why you saved it?
With Pinterest, I can look through all of my saved food finds (for instance) and see a chicken casserole that looks fabulous. Click the photo and I'm taken directly to the post with the recipe and further details. Easy and all in one spot.
To make things even more fun (a.k.a. addictive) you can "follow" other Pinterest members, some of which may be family and friends, and see what they have collected from around the web. Like one of their findings? Repin to your own pinboard for future reference. You can also set up multiple boards so your pins can be separated into categories for easier reference.
As they say at Pinterest "Pinterest is designed to curate and share things you love" If you haven't yet discovered Pinterest, what are you waiting for? It's free and it's a really fun tool!
Look at a few of the things I have found that I am in LOVE with.
Candy Corn wreat
Hot Chocolate Marshmallow stirrers
Nutella Hot Chocolate
Pumpkin Pancakes with Cinnamon Syrup
There are a TON of other ideas I have posted, but some maybe Christmas gifts :)
