Who said nothing in life is free, well almost free?!

As you all know I LOVE Target, but more than Target I LOVE getting a great deal and saving money for our family.

This week Target has on sale the Huggies Gentle Care Wipes for $5.49, which is a 50 cent saving from the normal price.

A few week ago on coupons.com I found $5 off a Huggies Gentle Care Product. Since saying "Product" that meant anything that was a Gentle Care Product would count...diapers or wipes.

So my great deals for the weekend at Target

Transaction #1
1 pkg of Huggies Gentle Care wipes (184 count) for $5.49
1 pkg of Huggies Gentle Care wipes (184 count) for $5.49

Total: $10.98 before my coupons.....I had two $5 off coupons...

So my total for 2 pkgs of Huggies Gentle Care wipes....was.....98 cent (before tax)
*which makes it 1/4 cent a wipe (.002cents per wipe)

What a DEAL!

Transaction #2
1 pkg of Huggies Supreme Gentle Care Diapers (size 2, 40 count) for $10.29

Total: $10.29 before my coupon....I had one $5 off coupon

So my total for 1 pkg of Huggies Supreme Diapers $5.29 (before tax)
*which makes it .13 cents a diaper

Stay tuned to our blog to find out more how we are making a change in life to be more frugal...by watching deals and clipping coupons!

Visit to the Easter Bunny

Jacob walked right up to the Easter Bunny, no fear at all.

Owen's first Easter.
After sitting on the Easter Bunny's lap, Jacob rode the train. He loved it.

Big Brother, Little Brother

Big Brother loves his Little Brother

1 Month already!

We can’t believe that Owen has been with us a full month and how much he has grown already!

I’ve kept track so here is a recap!

  • First Day Home - Grammy & big brother, Jacob were there to greet Owen on his arrival home. We had horrible rains that day...it was like flash flood. We had to drive through a huge amount of water to get to the house. Water was almost coming in the door of the car

  • First Week - Pappy had dropped Grammy off to help Mommy recover from the C-Section and to help with Jacob while Mommy & Daddy were in the hospital. We were grateful to have another set of hands to help, not to mention to see Grammy for a while.

  • Day 5- Momaw and Popaw Woody arrive to Iowa to see Owen and to play with Jacob

  • Day 6- Pappy came to pick up Grammy. He brought a SURPRISE with him. He brought Aunt Chandell, Lilly & Logan. Jacob was very excited to get some play time with Lilly, and Logan. Aunt Chandell and Pappy got to see Owen for the first time.

  • Day 7- Momaw & Popaw Woody, Daddy, Mommy, Jacob and Owen went to the State Capitol for a tour.

  • Day 9- Daddy took pictures of all including Momaw & Popaw Woody.

  • Day 11- Went to the pediatrician for the first time, for 2wk check up. Owen weighed 9 pounds 11 ounces and was 21.5 inches. He gained one pounds and grew half and inches since leaving the hospital. It was also Aunt Sarah's birthday.

  • Day 12- Took Momaw & Popaw Woody to Culvers before they left to go back to Ohio.

  • Day 13-Mommy & Daddy's first full day without having family to help. Also Uncle Heath's birthday :)

  • Day 14-Mommy had an appointment, then went to get the Greenfield filter removed; however, due to some clot being around the filter she was admitted to the hospital. Daddy, Jacob and Owen stayed the night with Mommy while she was on a Heparin IV in order for her to get the filter removed the next day.

  • Day 15- Mommy got her filter removed and we were able to go home

  • Day 18- Cord fell off, now Owen can have big boy baths

  • Day 19- Owen's original due date...we went shopping and enjoyed some family time.

  • Day 20- We enjoyed another wonderful family day. We went to the Des Moines Botanical Gardens for a tour and some pictures. We then went on to Saylorville Lake and to Big Creek State Park where we enjoyed a picnic on the beach.

  • Day 21-:We went to the park and Jacob got to fly his new Buzz Lightyear kite.

  • Day 22-Happy St. Patrick's Day. Jacob and Owen enjoyed the warm spring almost summer like temperatures playing outside.

  • Day 29: Daddy and Mommy took pictures of Jacob and Owen

  • Today - We celebrate Owen's one month! Not sure where the time is going, but we are enjoying every minute.

Owen has been such a blessing. We are enjoying every minute watching him grow and already learn new things. He is lifting his head when enjoying tummy time and focuses on our faces. He really knows Mommy's voice and will turn to look for her. Owen grasp your finger, and big brother tries to get him to hold on to toys. We are sure that won't continue in a few months when Owen is trying to take his toys.

So that about sums up Owen's life thus far. I still owe all of you his Birth Story and I’ll try to accomplish that within the next week…between feedings, playtime, laundry, potty training, diapers and naptime :)

Let's Go Fly a Kite!

We are enjoying this warmer weather finally! We took Jacob and Owen to the park to play and fly Jacob's new inflatable kite. Well once Daddy finally got the kite together a group of little kids were there to play as well. Although, the kids were not very nice at all...so Daddy had to politely tell them as they were trying to run off with bubby's kite to stop.

Daddy and Jacob finally getting to fly the kite by themselves.
Jacob really loved his Buzz Lightyear kite.
Jacob enjoyed playing at the park so much that he didn't want to leave.

Spring is almost here!

We are enjoying the warmer weather here in Iowa. This weekend we took the boys to the Botanical Garden and to Saylorville Lake. We then went on up to Big Creek State Park where we had a picnic on the beach. Here are a few pictures from our weekend.
Inside the Botanical Garden is a small water fall, Jacob loved the fish, and had to throw money in as well :)

He is growing so fast!
